My hi-fi system got wet

Hello,

I'm in a panic! Here's the problem: My hi-fi system, which is under my window, got caught in the rain while I was sleeping... I don't know how long exactly it was out in the rain, but I was awakened by loud CLACKS accompanied by sparks. I then cut the power, closed the window, and left it like that for the rest of the night. The next morning, I tried to turn it back on filled with hope (I know I shouldn’t have), and it made another CLACK. So, I started drying it with a hairdryer, but I know that's not enough, so I’m begging you to tell me what I should do, where I should take it for repairs?? How much is it going to cost me??

Thank you in advance for your help...

PS: I’m leaving for vacation tomorrow, so if someone could kindly help me before that, it would be really great! :)

    Hello,

Honestly, don’t even try to fix it, just go buy another one.
Electricity + water = NOT GOOD
    You’re lucky you didn’t have a fire!!
As for the prices, it all depends on what you want to buy.

The best thing to do is to buy a new one because if they test it at customer service and realize it's defective, no return!!
    Similarly, if they open it!!!!

Well, I'm going to teach you something I learned during my internship at the CNRS ^^ long before you hear a snap or see a spark..................... It's SCREWED!

It's going to cost you an arm and a leg if you get it repaired, buy another one

If it’s still under warranty, dry it off well and take it back to where you bought it, then say that it broke down!!

Splash, splash, water and electronics don't make a good mix, but in my opinion, it's too late for you!!!

Let it dry first or you'll get electrocuted, that would be a shame before going on vacation!!! Try to place it upside down or on its side so that it drains better, and of course, unplug it... Don't even try to turn it on for now, it needs to dry first.

Can you open it? (are you under warranty?) If so, open it and try to soak up as much as possible (never use a hairdryer, you could melt plastic components). Once it's dry, the electrical problem will be easier to identify, but in any case, a specialist needs to take a look at it (to test the circuits, otherwise you could get shocked at any moment!). Is it from a big brand? What model is it?

XD it's rather that a hi-fi system has no business outside, so next time check the weather

And then, you shouldn't sleep with the window open
The mosquitoes are just waiting for that (by the way, they don't mess with the Hi-Fi equipment!!)
