Hello, is it possible, for our regular holidays in the Algarve, a region located in the extreme south of Portugal, to dismantle the 60 cm satellite dish we use in France to reinstall it there with its decoder? Will it cause reception problems for French TV channels in Portugal, or would it be better to buy another one in France or Portugal?

Tntsat in Portugal or Spain is like Tntsat throughout Western Europe, no significant reception difference compared to France.

According to Astra-SES recommendations, a 60 cm dish is sufficient, equipped with a standard low-noise universal LNB, 0.4 dB (ref Astra: PIRE 50 dBw zone).

Now, it remains to be seen whether it's better to spend around thirty euros (indicative price in France is the same as in Portugal) and simultaneously equip the house in Portugal. All that will be left is to transport the Tntsat terminal, knowing that its setup doesn't change, of course.

115 km north of Lisbon, Leiria, I use a 50 cm dish, but with a new, more efficient LNB as it has a noise figure of 0.2 dB instead of 0.6 dB. I have no issues receiving TNTsat.

Previously, I used the dish on Atlantic Bird 3 with an analog demodulator to receive the 6 national channels + TMC… now I have the 18 TNT channels just like in France.

In Porto, I receive TNTSAT via Astra 19.2º with a 45 cm Technisat satellite dish under very good conditions, even during heavy rain and wind. The installer told me that I could also receive AB3 with the same antenna, but not with the same decoder.

be careful, you can get c+ decoded with it.. in that case you need a receiver with viaccess card reader and a card-only subscription

If you have the 7 French channels via satellite in clear and analog, it means you have a dish directed at the Atlantic Bird satellite at 5° West (the analog TMC version will be cut off in a few days...)

Either you keep your AB 3 installation as a backup, or to put the decoder in another room, or you can reuse the dish by repointing it to Astra 19° East, provided it is equipped with a universal LNB... I think that's the case since you have TMC (in low band) and the other channels are in high band.

Rather, buy another complete dish (with a universal LNB) of 60 cm, < 30 Euros, to install it on Astra 1 (tntsat or even Canalsat)

No, Secam is only on AB 3, and Astra is not terrestrial digital TV but satellite digital TV!! Don't mix everything up.

Since I have a universal LNB, I just need to change my analog receiver for the TNT Sat decoder (it's easier).
When I talk about SECAM, it's because my parents have their satellite dish pointed at AB, but the channels are in black and white because of their television. And here is my doubt: if they also point their dish at Astra with the TNT Sat decoder, will the channels be in color?

Don't apologize, no one has all the knowledge; if your parents' television is a less recent PAL model, you can't get the Secam color from the AB 3 satellite. The latest TVs support both PAL and Secam through the SCART connector and also offer standardized PAL Secam via the terrestrial antenna input. Anyway, PAL and Secam are living their last years, maybe two in France; I'm not sure about Portugal...

For a few days, they should be able to watch TMC in analog color, which switched to PAL before being turned off. Just check that first.

In satellite mode with TNTSAT, these problems no longer exist; you just connect your selected TNTSAT terminal from the four available... and align and fine-tune towards Astra 1... as explained.

(This has nothing to do with TNT.)
