Hello,
I just downloaded Meboy with some games like ROM!
Afterwards, I sent it to my phone via USB cable and no problem, I found it in one of my folders on my micro SD card.
However, I can't open it or use any of the games!
On this phone, I have the impression that Java is not installed since I can't find it among my apps where I only have Google Maps.
I understood that a code was needed to enter a hidden folder, profile, etc... But I can't find the code for my new phone, which is the Samsung F490 as the title has already specified!
So I would like to know if anyone has a solution for me regarding the use of these games!! ^^
Thanks in advance to everyone,
Best regards,
Spynel

This is the website I recommend; it's really good and completely free. Because yes: paying is lame ^^
So, well, here we go! I've figured out how to do it, so a little solidarity among owners of this phone ^^
You download JavaInstall from one of the following links (sorry, but I uploaded it and got two links; I don’t know which one is the right one and I don’t have much time to check):
Javainstall.Rar by Bigupload.Com
http://www.bigupload.com/code.php?code=1USH62ZFNH
This software might seem a bit tricky at first, but in 20 seconds you can install as many games and applications as you want (Jar and Jad files).
I lost the tutorial, so here’s a quick rundown: connect your phone to your PC without starting PC-Studio, launch this software and do the following: choose the "com port" in: setting/com. There should normally only be one available, select it. Then: File/connect. Your phone is now connected:
To transfer a game or other apps, open the Exe/Java/Games folder using the explorer at the bottom left.
Using the right-click of the mouse, in front of the phone explorer where you already have your files with your game names, create a new folder using the New > Folder menu.
Rename your folder with the name of the game and enter this folder by clicking on it.
Search for your games folder present on your PC using the upper explorer of the software.
Highlight the .jar and the .jad files to send to the phone and click on the third icon at the top Download.
And voila, the files are in the phone. Then you need to validate the installations; enter the code *#6984125*# on your phone as if you were calling someone, go to the Internals menu and enter the code *#9072641*# then confirm. Go to the Storage Settings menu and select Update Java DB. Normally, the game is installed.
Have a lot of fun, everyone! ^^

I have the same phone and therefore I have the same problem.
However, you are wrong; Java is indeed integrated into the phone.
The only way I found to install a Java application is to download it from the internet via the phone.
If another way exists ... I'm all ears ^^
What is this story about the code for a hidden folder?-
There is indeed a "hidden part" that allows the installation of games. Previously, I had the E900, and with this code, I managed to install 3 or 4 games (but there were about 20 failures in the process, just to say that the success rate is relatively (haha) low!). I recently bought the F490, and well, it quickly became clear that nothing works. The code is no longer recognized. But just in case, I'll give you the procedure anyway:
"Put the .jar and .jad files in the phone in the other files directory of the file manager.
Then
Type the following code: *#9998*5282#
You arrive in a hidden menu called Profile
Select 3) "Install Midlet"
When prompted for the password, type
235282
Then you find yourself in the file manager in the other files directory, where you select the .jad file of the game you want to install!"- Tons of applications for your Samsung F490!

Personally, I tried some applications and games, and they work perfectly, without too much difficulty. I hope this brings you something extra.
Have a great day, everyone!

Thank you for your links, but I have a problem. Here it is, I successfully download the game's JAR, then I go on wap to enter the two codes as planned, I download the game but normally these are free games, I only pay the wap cost, so why is it taking about 5 euros from my credit?
And one more question, I can't log in with the code you gave Superchaprot, and where can I find the link to upload JAR AND JAD?
Thank you for your answers!! -
You shouldn't download them on Wap either; these games are only free online. You then need to transfer them to your SD card or directly to your phone.
-
Thank you very much, I will do exactly what you say, I'll keep you updated!!
-
It's me again, I can't download with your links :
Sorry, I'm not at all knowledgeable about computers!! -
Okay, I'll wait until tomorrow then;)
Thanks again for helping me;)

This is the tutorial, it works CORRECTLY! I did it on my F490.

Everything is detailed there. -
It's all good, thanks, I managed to do it using the steps:
does your site have the games in French or not?-
http://dl.free.fr/getfile.pl?file=/k4xv2vWb
I hope this link will work. It's still for the JavaInstall archive. After that, you need to follow my instructions left in a previous post and it should work. At least for me, it's perfect ^^.
Good luck to everyone.

For me it works, I have the software you posted on another site!!
But on your site, are the games in French???? -
Well, the ones I downloaded I had already before I discovered this site. I downloaded a few from this site, like Zelda 3 (which is awesome by the way ^^, quite playable with touch controls compared to other games). So since the site is in English, the games should be too ^^, although some offer multiple languages. For example, Zelda offers French.
So download a few games and see for yourself, test them because they are not sorted by language. And the sites that collect all the free games for our phones aren't exactly common, so let's not be picky ^^
Have a good evening -
Ok no problem ;)
Anyway, thanks ;)
Oh really, Zelda is in French? I have it in English :s -
I have another question: why is my jar file under WinRAR? What should I do if I don't have the accompanying jad file? I can't drag it into JavaMaker to retrieve it!!
Thank you -
Download Jadmaker, it's really handy. However, I didn't know about javamaker. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll come back in a few hours if I can to upload it. But it's not on my computer, it's on an external hard drive, and my brother is supposed to bring it back to me later tonight.
So good luck, or see you very soon ^^ -
I already have it (jad maker) but when I download a game with only one jar file, it is under winrar so it's impossible to get the jad file :s
-
ah ok.
Well, I don't know why, I've never had that. Can you decompress it? Or is it not possible?
Because if it's just a matter of decompressing, you just get Winrar and bingo. But I think if that were the case, there wouldn't have been a problem. Look for other game sites in .jar format, on my side I will see if I can find some because I think I remember one or two addresses.
