Hello,
I'm going to lend my computer to a friend for repairs.
I want to delete files so he doesn’t come across them.
Even though I don't think he will snoop through my folders, you never know... I would like to completely erase these files from my computer. But I know that even if deleted from the recycle bin, those files can be recovered.
Will he definitely need to install software to find them? Or will it be enough for him to do a few manipulations to access them?
If it helps, my operating system is Windows XP Home Edition version 2002.

After all, there are software programs for that, but you need another PC.
If you want to delete everything without the hassle of formatting, use the "magnet shower" technique, it's 100% effective and irreversible (except for Flash memory)

For sure, he's a friend, I don't think he'll go snooping... But still, I'm going to leave him my central unit for 24 hours, he's really good with computers since he works for Microsoft, and my files are very personal... if you know what I mean... ;)

I don't really know what he does exactly, but I know that for example, he tested Windows Vista before its release. -
Yeah, you're well aware; it's possible to recover deleted files from the recycle bin; in fact, they're just in the form of available virtual memory but the files are still there, until a new file takes their place.
