Hello everyone,
There's something I don't understand: when I come to the CCM site, sometimes I have to log in, and sometimes I don't... for example, right now, I just turned on my PC, I'm logging in for the first time today, I go straight to CCM, and I'm already logged in! How is that possible (sic)?

Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.

Hello Mirabelle...
It's very simple.... if you leave the site without logging out and you log back in soon enough, the cookies that CCM puts on your PC when you log in are enough to keep you logged in... (at least for a certain time ... what is this time??? no idea..)
So I advise you to log out when you leave CCM. And also to do a little cleaning of the PC at the end of the day... "CCleaner" is very useful for this type of operation... it will clear your PC of a lot of unnecessary stuff... that accumulates while you surf the web..

It is very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room...
Especially when it's not there...!!!!

Hello,
I made the same observation and asked myself the same question, and I thought about it and came to the potential but unconfirmed conclusion that maybe, possibly, why not, the login parameters are still remembered on the CCM server.
And there you go...........

OK, thank you for your very clear responses! That explains everything.
As a treat, I'm virtually offering you coffee and croissants ;-)
Have a great day and a wonderful weekend!

Hello
I hope for the security of private information that the cookie is protected if it is stolen, especially over a wifi connection to transfer it to another computer... A security consultant demonstrated this at a conference on security where participants were connected via Wifi to the web, specifically using the Google Gmail accounts of the participants...
Protection: 1 cookie = Locking (especially for session openings) on 1 pc!
There's nothing that prevents (if one wishes and it's allowed) to open multiple sessions on several pcs
***** Not just on Wifi and Email; but below is an example of Wifi and Email hacking:
http://www.pcinpact.com/actu/news/38113-piratage-courrier-electronique-emails-wifi.htm
"Robert Graham, CEO of Errata Security, demonstrated that the interception and hijacking of email accounts over WiFi networks is possible, and worse, quite simple for a scholar. He was able to access several Gmail accounts belonging to members of the press who attended the conference. Victims noticed that the security of their communication hangs by a thread on wireless networks!
Graham was able to log in and control several Gmail accounts, send emails between the accounts, in short, do everything one can do, but without any password. Furthermore, the method used is rather basic: the Ferret program was able to "sniff" the open WiFi network of the conference, looking for data packets to reconstruct and copy cookies transmitted over the air."

. The name of the technique:
Hacking emails via WiFi, easy... (but not only through WiFi and Email)

Graham (NDR: Robert Graham, CEO of Errata Security) invented sidejacking; after hijacking, which was easily detectable, he named his technique sidejacking because he doesn’t actually steal the session, so the original user is not disconnected.
