Layer isolation in autocad

Hello,

I need to create construction details in Autocad (2004)
I have a problem with the "insulation" line. Below is a quick sketch with 1) what I would like to have and 2) what I have.

I need to make a line larger than the area to be filled, and be able to explode the line to cut off the excess... but I can't specifically explode this line...

Does anyone have a lead for me?

    You could draw it yourself using a spline or a polyline and convert it into a block that you can copy!
