Hello, I also have the same problem as mentioned at the beginning of the topic.
I started taking apart the laptop and I can see now that the female power jack has indeed become loose.
Good news, this jack is not attached to the motherboard, so I can solder it myself without taking too much risk.
I own a Toshiba Satellite A100-110, but I can't find this exact model on Jann's site.
Could this one work? http://www.laptopjacks.com/...

Thank you in advance.

In continuing my research online, I found this site http://www.imprimante.org/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=1034 that offers the part I’m looking for with the connector included, which saves me the risks of soldering!

Can you confirm the compatibility with my computer? (Satellite A100-110)

Sincerely, Anthony

Good evening, I also have the same problem with my power supply. Knowing a bit about soldering, I re-soldered two out of three wires because the third one had no wire left; so I don’t know where I should re-solder that one.

Because actually, when I plug in my laptop to charge, I see the general power LED on as well as the one indicating that my laptop is charging, however, when I turn on my laptop, the charging light goes off and my laptop stays on as long as there’s battery.

For your information, here are the details of my laptop:

Toshiba Satellite series 20
Satellite P20-S103
Ref: PSP20E-00XHV-FR

Thank you in advance for your help

David

Hello,

I just had the same problem, the DC connector pin is broken on my Acer Aspire 9420! And I can't find a reference for the connector in the Acer manual. Could you provide me with one?

Thank you,

Best regards

You saw what you did, you take the wire, you bring it to an electrician and he will fix it, isn't it silly?

Moi aussi, j'ai un PC portable ASUS et mon câble est carrément coupé parce que je l'ai amené chez un électricien et il l'a coupé. Et le câble s'est encore coupé. Il y a un moyen de le réparer encore ou pas ?

Hello everyone,

I have the same issue with a LG P1 Express Dual laptop, the female connector for power is detached. I took it to a technician who disassembled my laptop but couldn't re-solder the connector because some parts were glued inside the computer... Can you help me because I think the person didn't put in much effort (it was a free service and I don't want to throw away my laptop since it's only 2 years old and everything works except for this issue!! Please Jann help, I don't know what to do anymore!

Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone!

I also have this problem; since yesterday my computer (Emachine e525) does not 'charge' even though the power cable is properly plugged in. I have to move the base of the cable every 5 minutes. Could you help me find out which connector I need to buy?

Thank you :)

Hello,
I have a rather serious problem with my PC, an Acer Aspire 7715 Z, for the past few days. One day after printing, the PC suddenly turned off and remained inactive for about 5 minutes. Then when I turned it back on, it only worked on battery. When I remove the battery and try to run it on AC power, it won't turn on. When it's turned off or in sleep mode, the charge indicator lights up but it doesn't charge the battery. When I turn it on with the battery and then plug in the charger, it charges the PC for about 10 seconds and then stops. Obviously, I thought about changing the charger or the battery; I did both without any success. The battery works perfectly on another Acer and its charger also charges another Acer without any problem. Thank you for your help.

Hello, I have an Acer Aspire 7220. I changed my charger because the old one had a cut cable, but when I plug it in, there's no charging indicator. However, when I connect the two pins of the connector, there are sparks, showing that current is passing. What should I do?

Hello,
I think I have the same issue as the person who started this topic...

I’ve had an MSI GT60 for about 2 years, and all of a sudden, without any drop or anything, the power supply no longer charges the battery properly.

A week ago, I had to change the battery; it’s new and it works.

But I had to operate without a battery and on AC for a while, which was complicated because the slightest movement at the AC connection behind the laptop caused it to shut down...
I thought the contact at the back of the computer wasn't great.

Today, it may have gotten worse.
I have a big issue: the laptop no longer charges when I plug it in at the back, I have to adjust something at the back where the power cable connects (which I found after several attempts with the power supply).
I have to bend the "hard part of the cable" upwards, the end that plugs into the computer, and prop it a bit sideways, and THEN it charges normally...

Should I buy a new power cable, or is there an issue with my laptop?

Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Honestly, you’re not going to take apart your computer when you can keep it much simpler!
I also had a big problem with my computer and my power supply and I came across a site (webducommerce) that’s actually pretty good with several power supplies that might work for you.
12V/2A; 12V/1.5A; 19/120W; 15A24V/70W; 9V/6A/70W; 12V/5A with several types of connectors.
Feel free to check it out
Oh I have the link: http://www.webducommerce.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=12v&x=9&y=10
