Big problem metin2

Hello,
I downloaded Metin2, but this morning when I try to launch it, it says "This application failed to start because DSETUP.dll is missing. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."
But in the control panel - add and remove programs, I don't think I can find it. Is that the only way?
Will I lose my character? How can I fix this?
Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 2.0.0.13

I have another solution for Vista in case Serhan13700's solution doesn't work. For me, you need to create a new folder on your desktop and copy the contents of Metin inside. At one point, the transfer gets stuck and you need to click on continue. After the transfer is finished, click on Metin2, insist if it doesn't work, then there will be some extractions, and after that, it's done. There will be the menu; click on start. After that, there will be another file verification and another download. After that, you can play, but if the firewall asks to block the application, click on unblock so it works. I played right away, lol. (Moreover, I downloaded it from Vista without needing help.)

Well, you go to the folder where you installed Metin (program etc...), you copy all the files in it and paste them into a new folder on the desktop. It's been a year since I last played, but give it a try anyway, I'm waiting for MW3 (PS3), send me your names ^^

C'est une solution pour Vista, mais tu as une solution pour Windows 7. J'ai besoin de l'original parce que je suis complètement perdu pour réparer cette erreur.

If you have Vista, it's normal that it doesn't work. You actually need to go to:

-Computer
-Program Files
-C:
-Metin FR
-Select everything inside except the bgm folder
-Put everything into the bgm folder
-Enter the bgm folder
-Click on metin2 which has its logo
-It will open
-You will press start the game
-You will choose a server
-You will choose a channel
-You will write your login and password
-You will create your character
-You will press start
-You will play. I don't know how to be more precise.

hi,
I'm legathar on metin2,
1-your character is stored on the site, so there's no chance of losing it
2-you need to reinstall metin2...to uninstall it I deleted everything, there are no other solutions: there is no uninstallation, it's actually the only software I've seen without an uninstall option, so you reinstall directly after deleting the metin2 files in program files (start, my computer, c:/, program files, metin2_france) there you go, bye

Hello, I followed your help to solve the problem I had starting Metin 2. I did exactly what I was supposed to, but after reinstalling, here’s the message: "this application could not start because the file DSETUP.dll is missing..."
Is there really no solution?
Is it possible, like with some other games, that the downloaded installation is incomplete?

Bonjour, ou bonsoir, j'ai un problème avec Metin2. En fait, j'ai créé un compte sur Metin2, ensuite je l'ai téléchargé et je l'ai installé, et à la fin, je regarde mon fond d'écran avec tous mes jeux et trucs dessus, mais je ne trouve pas Metin2. Le jeu n'est pas là, s'il vous plaît, aidez-moi.

Well, you can go look in "Start," usually when you download something and it's recent, it's in the (so to speak xD) Start window. If you don't see the Metin icon in that window, you can type "metin2" in the search bar, and NORMALLY you should find it! :D

What you do is install the game on the desktop without deleting any files, because I had the same issue and now it no longer happens! :p

I have the same problem as you; you're looking on forums, there are plenty of answers to our problems! I will keep searching, and as soon as I find something, I'll let you know afterwards. For those at the top who have issues, it's either the way your download is done or do like me and set "window mode" instead of "fullscreen mode" (you need to check it) and then choose the window size!!! Thank you in advance for helping me, otherwise for the "LOG" and have a good game if you can play!! I'm a former player who is still just as good a player XD!!

First I downloaded Metin, then I had to install it. After the installation (extraction of Metin), I wanted to start Metin, but it didn't work; I got this message: Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

So I created a new folder named Metin on my desktop, I went to where I had installed Metin (Vista(C:)/Program Files/Metin2_France), I opened the Metin folder and saw files. I selected all of them and copied them into my folder named Metin (on my desktop). During the data transfer, you are asked to confirm access to the folder; you need to check (do this for all current items) if it hasn't been done, then click continue and continue again. After that, the transfer bar doesn't move anymore, so you have to wait for the transfer window to disappear.

After that, you launch the Metin application located in the new folder you created (the folder where you transferred Metin).

Hello, the solution is in the question... Remove Metin2 from the computer. Reinstall "loader" and then install Metin2 again. The characters created on the servers are always on the server and not on your computer. As a precaution, when you reload Metin2, avoid using other software.

So, if I understand correctly, I can uninstall Metin from my PC and then reinstall it right after, all without losing my character (my entire account?) :/ ???
I have a level 25 warrior, it's not great I know, but it would be a shame to lose her! :/

Uninstall the software, reload without using any programs... the characters are on the server... That's it.

I have a big problem so if someone can help me here’s the explanation:

I downloaded the Metin2 torrent because the other option was too slow (at least 6Ko/s :s)
At the end of the download which took me 4 or 5 hours, I started Metin2 and so far no problem
I click on "start the game" and then... a page named LOG appears, I click OK and then Metin2 closes
I repeated the same action but it's always the same !!

How can I fix this please ??!!

I did everything you told me, but I have another problem on top of all that. After the patch, there's another one, and that's the one that's bugging; it goes really fast and at the end it tells me: "Create process failed with error 3: the specified path could not be found

Please give me the solution, I already have a character in Metin level 33 and level 20 and level 17, I'll XP you for free and I'll give you a reward in the game, thanks in advance
By the way, I'm in the empire: Chunjo and server 1 ch 1.

Bonjour à tous, moi mon problème c'est que j'ai beau tout essayer pour pouvoir le lancer, mais quand je clique sur démarrer, un message apparaît en me disant "metin2 no create appropriate device" dans ce genre, et je n'y arrive pas. J'ai tout essayé, s'il vous plaît aidez-moi, je vous en serais très reconnaissant. Merci.

I've got the same problem as you. I've tried everything: the driver, DirectX, but nothing works. I tried it on my second computer and it works, so I took the whole Metin2 folder, put it on a USB stick, and reinstalled it on my computer. Nothing changes, it's still the same problem. Please help me.

et quand je regarde sur youtube les choses pour transformer une arme/armure en HL et lup +9, même ten, ben c'est trop petit pour voir cette explication

Go to My Computer => Local Disk C: => then Program Files and look for a folder containing metin2 or metin.
Then right-click on the file metin.exe and send to => desktop to create a shortcut.

Go to the search and type metin2, you'll see if it's not there, then you don't have it on your PC.
