Forced to wait to double press

I have to wait for a moment before pressing the same key twice in a row, and it's really annoying when I want to delete or write a word that contains two consecutive letters.
Please help me.
I have an Acer Aspire.

      Hello, I'm re-posting because I'm experiencing the same issue. It is impossible for me to press the same key multiple times. I have to wait exactly 2 seconds. No error message appears. I tried the keyboard settings technique, but nothing works.

        I would like to clarify that when I press the keys, a buzzing sound can be heard through the speakers. Any key. When I mute the sound, I hear nothing.


        I have an Acer TravelMate 290, which is not very new...
