Question

Hello, I am the secretary of an association and I would like to create membership cards myself but I can't find any software for that. If anyone can provide me with information, that would be great. Preferably, I am looking for free software. Thank you.

Hello everyone, thanks for the tips!

I also started creating a template using classic tools (Microsoft) + mail merge.

I tested printing on laminated templates (thanks to Ashalka's post)

This template corresponds to the standard format cards (like credit cards) and all the association members found it to look "professional"

I have also recently become a secretary of a tuning club, and I would like to create membership cards myself. However, I only have the usual software (Word, Picasa, Adobe), and I don't have anything else. If I need to download another one, there's no problem! The fields I would like to include are: last name, first name, club name, and space for a photo. I think that should be sufficient, right? As for the formats for my membership cards, I would like them to be standard so they can fit in a wallet and pocket. I do have the option to buy a little bit of equipment! However, our budget is still limited ;) So, please let me know what to do! Thanks.

Hello everyone,

Indeed, Midu is right, it is possible to create labels with a office suite (MS Office, Open Office). You should check with a stationery store that what they offer (pre-cut business cards) corresponds well to formats listed in Word or Writer.
Important: take into account the minimum margins imposed by your printer!

The "how to" for OOo is explained in tutorials on the internet (OpenOffice and Framasoft)

To edit a membership card, any free photo editing software (like Gimp) is more than sufficient. Ultimately, it's not about a specific software, but about layout. Word and Publisher are also convenient, but often limited in terms of creativity.

For more advanced options, you can create custom membership cards through certain websites. It's even possible to print them on materials other than paper, like metal, carbon, wood, plastic, ...
