Hello,

I'm still having my issue with Open Office Calc: the formulas are displayed in the cells but do not execute.

- I uninstalled and then re-downloaded the suite without success.
- The default cell formatting doesn't change anything.

The "automatic calculation" function in Tools/Cell Contents is checked, I don't know what else to do, Please help!

Have a good day
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 2.0.0.11

Hello,
I had the same problem today. It's very simple. In the spreadsheet, in the menu, click on tools - options - open office calc - display and uncheck the formula box, because if the formula box is checked, the formula appears in the cell instead of the result, and everything will be back in order. Good luck.

Even for a simple addition, like: =SUM(A2:A3), it doesn't work...

Go to Tools>Options>Openoffice.org.calc>View>Show>uncheck "Formulas"

Thank you scoundrel! You just saved me! In my case, that was indeed the problem because not even a simple addition was working!

It still works in 2015, and with LibreOffice Calc!

How do we check the syntax? Thank you.

On Open Office, we formulate it like this: "=SUM(A1:G5; Z1:Z5)"

Here’s what displays if I want to, for example, add 5 (C3) to 2 (C4), the formula displays but does not execute:

5
2
=SUM(C3:C4)

Hi

Actually, like everyone else, you've changed an option to have the decimal point on the numeric keypad
so in Calc, the comma is used in the syntax between the whole number and the cents.
That's why the simple SUM formula doesn't work with the point.

See you soon
But nothing prevents you from installing version 3

You probably have a syntax error, check it!
