Hello,
I bought my son a wireless microphone (for karaoke (jack plug), but when he plugs it into his home cinema, it doesn't work. Are there any special connections to be made (maybe at the amplifier or the TV)? Thank you for your help...

Generally, the jack input on the front of a home theater system is an OUTPUT to connect headphones
it is marked PHONES. To connect the microphone, you need an INPUT on the home theater system.

If the home theater system does not have one, one solution is to connect the microphone to the input of a device that has one (for example, a PC or certain DVD players), and then connect the PC (or the DVD player) to the home theater system.

It is difficult to answer questions from people with different equipment. I will therefore try to respond to the first requester, blues5354:

A wireless microphone is a radio transmitter. To transmit the sound to an amplifier, you need to connect a receiver to an input of that amplifier. From what you describe, it seems to be a 6.35 mm jack input, which is very rare on hi-fi systems.

If you have the receiver (equipped with a jack input) and the karaoke machine, you can connect it, if it has a line or auxiliary output, to a line or auxiliary input of the amplifier (on the back of the amplifier) using cinch cables.

Otherwise, you could try connecting the receiver to a line input of the amplifier using a mono 6.35 mm jack to 2 cinch adapter. However, it is not certain that this will work (microphone connected to a line input), although there is no danger in trying, the output level of the amplifier will simply be weakened.
