Hello,
This is not a casual message; all Orange users are concerned!
Recently, tools have been circulating on the internet that allow an average user to hack a Wi-Fi key by breaking the WEP security of a key, thus gaining access to a secured WEP network.
What you may not know is that Orange Liveboxes are also very vulnerable to these attacks, even if you disable the Wi-Fi card on your Livebox. This is due to a security flaw in the Livebox and the code tampered with by Orange to set up their interface. Since these Liveboxes are not configurable like the original routers, it is impossible to completely disable your Livebox Wi-Fi network, which remains active even when you disable it.
A malicious hacker can therefore very easily use your Livebox without your knowledge, and you have no way of detecting it.
Our test directly incriminates the Inventel Livebox; we have not yet tried it with a Sagem Livebox.
Note that for professional Liveboxes, Wi-Fi hotspotting is also not disable-able, which means you will only have mediocre performance, and on top of that, Orange sells the ability for mobile customers to use your Livebox, while you receive nothing in return. It’s legal; it’s in your professional contract, which has nothing to envy from the personal contract since it only adds a financial burden to your bill, all for just a few extra email addresses and space for your site nom.orange.fr, which hardly anyone uses... Rare are those who request a fixed IP, which obviously reduces its interest...
But let's get back to the point...
Your Inventel Livebox is not secure at all, and malicious individuals can easily use your bandwidth and IP to illegally download internet content. Be aware that if there is a complaint, it is you who will suffer, even though you are not responsible whatsoever!!!
If you want to ensure that your Livebox is not being used by someone, you simply need to unplug your Ethernet cable and/or temporarily disable your Wi-Fi cards, and check if there is still activity on the Livebox. If that’s the case, your Livebox has been hacked!!!
How to temporarily resolve the issue:
You will need to open your Livebox with a torque screwdriver 6 Pans. The protective cover of the Livebox should come off easily by pulling on the sides simultaneously. Once uncovered, you will see the famous 6-sided screws that prevent the opening of your Livebox. You will also need to cut with a cutter the label that contains your MAC Address and WEP Key information, as it will retain its closing once the screws are removed.
Once the Livebox is open, take out the motherboard. You will then see small gray antennas. One corresponds to the Wi-Fi module, and the other to the Bluetooth module. The Wi-Fi card looks like a laptop Wi-Fi card. It is usually a Broadcom brand; you can verify this before disassembling your Livebox by going into the system information of your Livebox. Be careful, if you disconnect the Bluetooth module, your unlimited telephony will no longer work. So don't forget to change the default four-digit code, which is 1111.
Once the Wi-Fi card is removed, reassemble the Livebox and check that everything works correctly. Of course, those who are on Wi-Fi will temporarily need to use an RJ45 cable plugged into the red port of the Livebox. Normally it's plug and play, so forget the Orange CD-ROM; it has never been useful for anything other than unnecessarily weighing down your PC.
The configuration utility for your Livebox is at the address HTTP://192.168.1.1

Also change your admin password in the security section; everyone knows it :)
You are now temporarily secure. All you have left to do is file a complaint against X and Orange, which is clearly incapable of securing your network, even though they have gigantic resources that all the alternative operators would dream of having to work. Note that this is a valid reason to legally cancel your subscription and choose an operator that knows their business, like CEGETEL or FREE, which are by far the best in terms of security!!! (I would like to acknowledge RANI ASSAF, who is the founder of Free along with a very talented group of friends!!!).
You now know what it's all about.
I will let you read this message and do everything necessary to ensure your security...

Well done...
I suppose you received this in a nice spam email and just copy-pasted it on the forum...
I'm not insinuating that there aren't any security flaws anywhere, but when you give an opinion like that, you need to explain your reasoning; otherwise it’s pointless on a forum like this.
I've never heard such stories; it's important to back up your claims, especially in IT because it's a science; it always works in the same way, and "I heard that" doesn’t justify anything.
