Error 1713, again and again

Question

Hello,

I went through the sections regarding my problem, but I couldn't find the solution...

I formatted my PC and reinstalled XP without any issues, but when I try to reinstall Office 2007 => problem!

First of all, the installation CD does not run automatically. So I open the small files and try to launch the setup: it refuses and even freezes my PC, which then refuses to shut down normally, display the task manager, etc...

And when I try to start the installation without going through the setup, I get error message 1713.

How can I reinstall my Office suite?

PS: In the meantime, I put on an Office XP version... could that be blocking the installation of Office 2007?

Hello, I had the same problem on my portable and in fact I had forgotten to reinstall the Windows SP2 then everything worked normally...

Well, for my part, I have practically the same issue!!

The DVD doesn't start on its own!!
But unlike you, when I try to run it, I get a message saying “... is not a valid Win32 application”

Then, when I try to install the programs independently, I get the following error message:
“Error 1713. The installer cannot install one of the required products....”

As a test, I installed Office on another one of my PCs and it went successfully!!!

And everything leads me to the mentioned address: (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/926279/
But that doesn't address my issue, nor does it resolve the “Win32” problem...

My operating system is: XP Home sp2 with all recent updates...

Is there a solution??
What should I do??

Thank you for the address!!

I went for a walk.. I copied the CD to my hard drive as indicated in one of the solutions...
I couldn't copy the "Proof" File = Windows Installer Package (error message: "an internal error occurred")
and the "Proof" File = XML Document (error message: "Cannot read from the source file or disk")..
These Files are located in the "Proof.nl" Folder in the "Proofing.fr-fr" directory.. I don't know what these Files and Folders correspond to, but I had a glimmer of hope when I attempted to click on my Setup.exe and the welcome window opened!!! But this was only for a brief moment as it was quickly replaced by a new error message saying: "A required file is damaged or unavailable"

GGGRRRRRR!!!!!!

And yet I installed this Office 2007 for testing on a 2nd PC without any issues!!!!!

So here it is, after thinking a bit, I managed to install my version of Office 2007!!!

I simply copied the DVD to an external hard drive from my 2nd PC and transferred the content to my PC where I had my errors, without any issues!!!
I was therefore able to install all this without any problems!!!! Phew... but I will still look into the hardware that must be the cause of all these troubles!!!!
