Hello,

The waste ink tank is full. Method found online

Canon PIXMA IP1000, IP 1500
Waste Ink Counter Reset.
Step 1: Manual for Service mode
1. Turn off the printer. And disconnect the printer cable. (unplug the 220 V!)
and plug it back in while holding the button!
2. Press and hold the POWER button, turn on the printer.
3. The indicator (L.E.D.) should be green.
4. Press and release the RESUME button, the indicator (L.E.D.) should be orange.
5. Press and release the RESUME button again, the indicator (L.E.D.) should be green.
6. Release both buttons.

Step 2: Software for Permanent

1. Reconnect the printer cable.
2. Open General Tools software and select (USB PORT)
3. Choose (SET DESTINATION 1) And it should be reset.

1. Press POWER, hold it down, unplug the power cable, plug the cable back in while holding POWER, the LED should be green.
2. While still holding it down, press the adjacent button (RESUME) and release, the LED should turn orange.
3. While holding POWER down, press the RESUME button once more and release, the LED should turn green.
4. Release both buttons at the same time.

A new printer with the counter reset to zero will be created.

5. Go to Settings > Control Panel > Printers and Faxes and choose the newly created printer as the default printer by right-clicking.

Eat before it cools down.

Hello
Fortunately, there are people like you who share useful information on the internet
after I called customer service: I couldn't get any useful information except: it's too complicated to take apart, you can change printers
Pleasant to see: and especially less polluting than Canon solutions!!!

Thank you a thousand times

Hello,
I have the same "reservoir full" problem with my CANON IP1000 printer.
I applied the first step of the solution you proposed and the error message disappeared, and the printer worked properly, but once I restart the printer the error message reappears and the printer gets stuck again.
From what I understood from the proposed solution, I need to execute the second step to resolve the problem permanently, but I can't find the "General Tools Software" and "Set Destination."
I kindly ask you to give us more explanation about the second step.
Thank you.

There is no detection of the used ink reservoir,
there is a counter that increments each time you perform a cleaning,
Apply the following procedure to reset the printer:
Unplug the power cable, press and hold the power button, reconnect the power plug and at the same time, press the resume button twice and then release the power button, the printer will then be reinitialized and you can print.

After the written procedures:
you also need to download the log "generaltool"

address where I found it: http://imprimante-en-question.blogspot.com/...

Well done!
I followed the proposed procedure and my printer has regained its virginity.
It's a pity that all this is not specified in the manual.

Which button is the "resume" button? I have 12 buttons and none of them are labeled "resume."
Thank you for responding quickly.
