SMS sending issue

Hello,
my phone has been acting up for a while. It lets me make calls but sending SMS is still a dream. I still have credit, I have signal, but when I try to send a text to any of my contacts, it says "message sending failed status: 38."
Sometimes, when I call the person I tried to text, the message sends automatically if it's still in the outbox and I don't understand!!! I've had this plan for over a year and it's never done this.
I reported the issue to my Orange agency and they kindly told me I should change my mobile (they'll do anything to make us pay).
I wouldn't mind if I had a better plan. However, that's not the case since I have the Orange Zap plan (so... for texts ^^)
thanks in advance

Impossible to send texts but able to receive them.
After hours of browsing forums and combining various bits of information, here’s what I did that worked:
Message that appears:
Service center address 0689004xxx (probably the number of my call/service center!)
As for me, it was returning the number of my best buddy... who knows why my buddy became my call center??? The joys of computing...
And finally, I enter another series:

- bottom right, click on the "keyboard" tab
- type
*#5005*7672#
then the green call button on the iPhone to validate.
