BUP File Extension

Hello,

I recently received a Yamaha DGX-620 digital piano and I have the following problem:

I recorded some sounds on the piano and then transferred these files to my computer. I ended up with a file with the .BUP extension, but I don't have any program capable of reading this type of file (I even tried with a program that reads MIDI files, but nothing...). In the manual, they say to use the Musicsoft Downloader program that comes with the piano, go to System Drive, and transfer the .BUP file, which I did. But they don’t tell me how to open it. I have been desperately searching since this afternoon but haven't found anything.

Thank you in advance.

The .bup file is only readable on the keyboard ... only ... it's a backup file just for it ...
At Yamaha, they say this model is not made for that, and that a higher model is needed ... lol
I'm looking for how to record on the PC then ... and there I can't find a way ... lol Can someone help me???!!!

Hi,

I am exactly in the same situation as you:
-Yamaha piano
-Musicsoft Downloader
-File "06PK61.BUP"

I also tried to open it with Audacity, which reads MIDI, but it's also a failure.

If anyone has a solution, thank you to them ;)

Unique solution avec un dispositif USB (clé ou autre) et MENU puis SMF copie de l'USER en format MIDI à recopier sur PC et événements à réintroduire par connexion directe sur le clavier toujours en MIDI.

Hello,

I didn't understand your process: I want to read MIDI files saved on a USB stick, but I can't.
The only solution is to copy the files with MUSICDOWNLOADER via a USB cable to the instrument's flash memory (limited to 800 KB, which makes 40 songs!).

Do you know how to read from a USB stick?

See you!
