Changement de la RAM utile sur un vieil ordi?

Bonjour,
Je voudrai savoir si c'est la peine de changer mes barrettes mémoires sur un vieil ordinateur 98 sur lequel j'ai installé XP car ça tourne très lentement....

1) Ce que je voudrai savoir c'est si, seul, le changement de la mémoire RAM rendra l'ordinateur plus performant. Est-ce que les performances dépendent d'autres choses? Mes configurations originales très basses pour maintenant ne rendront-elles pas inutiles un changement de RAM?

2) Je ne veux m'en servir que pour la bureautique et donc 512 Mo de Ram seront bien je pense. Faut-il que je n'achète qu'une carte de 512 ou 2 de 256?

J'ai actuellement 128 Mo de RAM et j'ai un processeur Intel Celeron à 766Mhz

bonjour
il est certain qu'augmenter ta quantite de ram sera benefique
il faut a xp presque 300 mega rien que pour tourner a peu pres correctement (et tout seul)
le pb est : est ce que ta carte mere est capable d'accepter plus de 512 meg
tu pourra le savoir si tu as encore la notice de celle ci
pour ce qui est de l'associtaion de barettes (2x256 ou 512) c pareil tout depend de ta carte mere

Ah oui aussi autre chose : maes 128 Mo de RAM sont sur une sur barrette.
Donc serait-il possible de n'acheter qu'une barrette de 512 et d'avoir ainsi 640?
Ce n'est qu'une question d'inculte...

Le problème, c'est que je n'ai pas la notice...

Normalement, une carte mère de 2000 peut elle supporter 640 mo???

telecharge le logiciel everest home edition et installe le sur ton pc
lance le et va dans resume de l'ordinateur
imprime un rapport et copie le ici
sans ses renseigements ca va etre difficile de t'aider

je n'arrive pas a trouver d'info sur ta carte mere
elle doit vraiment etre vieille
le mieux serai carement d'ouvrir ton pc , de retirer la barrette de ram et d'aller avec chez un revendur informatique pour lui demander conseil
ou meme d'y aller direct avec ta tour

Est-ce que c'est dangereux d'essayer?
J'ai réussi à trouver une barrette de 128, je peux essayer ou ça risque de cramer? et 512?
Pour la carte mère, c'était du haut de gamme en 2000. Donc en gros, tu penses que ça peut supporter combien de Mo?

Ah oui aussi, quelles sont les critères de séletion pour trouver une barrette sur ebay ou autres qui convienne à ma carte mère?

non pas de risque que ca crame a priori tout ce que tu risque c que ton ordi ne demare pas ou qu'elle ne soit tout simplement pas reconnue
je pense que tu peux monter a 1go e ram sans pb mais bon...
pour tes criteres de selection je n'en sais rien
car les barrette de ram on enormement evolués et evoluent encore
leur vitesse d'horloge a augmente, leur format aussi
et meme si tu prenait deux pc de 2000 ce n'est pas dit qu'une barrette fonctionnant sur l'un ne fonctionne sur l'autre
suis mon conseil : oublie ebay et va chez un vendeur informatique avec ton pc il saura te conseiller
autre detail il se peux aussi que ca te coute plus cher de vouloir gonfler ta ram que de racheter carement une nouvelle carte mere avec un processuer plus recent
en effet le prix des vieiilles barrettes est parfois exorbitant (rares a trouver donc cheres) c un peu comme le baril de petrole, leur prix evolue de jour en jour
