Why does opening Acrobat Reader take so long?

Has the Acrobat Reader app undergone so many changes that opening a PDF takes a long time? To print quickly, I suggest using Preview, which has the same difficulties—anyone else experiencing this?

    Good evening!

    Adobe Reader has become a bloated mess over time, to the trash bin.

    See this program without ads and without dubious proposals, or more fluid to use.
