SSD not detected
Neha -
Hello,
I have a problem, my 2020-era PC no longer detects my SATA SSDs. I’ve changed the power supply, still nothing. I’ve changed the SATA cables, still nothing. I’ve changed the SSD, still nothing. I think it might be the SATA ports; is my hypothesis correct? And so I would need to replace the motherboard.

Hello
It depends.......on what we understand of the problem.
First you say: it no longer detects my SATA SSDs, then later: I changed the SSD, still nothing
How many SSDs are there? Have all the SATA ports on the motherboard been tested? Were any changes made before the failure? (e.g., adding an M.2 SSD which often automatically disables some SATA ports)

Hello,
It’s a possibility, but not necessarily. Before replacing the motherboard, check if the SSDs are detected in the BIOS/UEFI. Also try resetting the BIOS (Clear CMOS), test other SATA ports, verify the SATA mode (AHCI), and make sure that no M.2 port disables certain SATA ports on your motherboard.
If no SATA SSD is detected despite these checks, it is likely that the motherboard's SATA controller is faulty. If important data is stored on the SSDs, avoid any risky manipulation and first recover them with a reliable data recovery software before considering replacing the motherboard.
Good luck
