Hello everyone,

I attempted to transfer music from my desktop to a USB stick using the procedure I found on a forum: click on sync, drag the selected tracks into the designated column, and then click on start sync. I received a message indicating that the operation was successful, yet there is nothing on the USB stick.

For your information, I am using Windows Media Player.

Thank you for your help.

    Hello,

The WMP synchronization is meant for MP3 players, not for a USB stick.

Windows Media Player treats the stick as a media device, but:

it can create a virtual sync

or sync to an internal cache

without physically writing the files to the stick.

Result: "Synchronization successful" message but the stick is empty in Explorer.

If you absolutely want to use Windows Media Player

(which I do not recommend for a USB stick)

    In WMP → Synchronization tab

    Click on Synchronization Options

    Check:

    ❌ No automatic conversion

    ❌ No DRM protection

    ✔ Format preserved (MP3)

Check the stick to see if WMP created a hidden folder:

     \Music\WMP\

    Important check

    After the sync:

    Open the stick with Explorer

    Enable View → Hidden items

See if there are any invisible folders
