Question about 3 Spanish cents:

Windows 25H2 coming soon.

Do you need to have installed 24H2 (which caused so many problems)? Or can you skip from 23H2?

If someone can tell me.

    Hello,

    I am on 25H2, actually there is a 166 MB installer to get us to 25H2 after cumulative updates.

    If you want/can upgrade to 25H2, you can either do it via online updates or with the ISO file of 24H2.

    When you have the ISO file, right-click > Open with > Windows Explorer

    Then click on the setup.exe file in the folder.

    Follow the instructions to "install" without wiping everything, make sure the green checkmarks indicating that you will keep everything are all okay.

    When you are on 24H2, do all the available cumulative updates, etc.

    Then install KB5054156.

      Hello,

      The installation does not pose any particular problem except that I see no premature interest in it.

      The question was about skipping from 23H2 to 25H2 because 24H2 would be defective, which does not seem to make sense to me because, schematically, 25H2 is 24H2.

        Hello,

        The 24H2 may have been catastrophic for older processors, otherwise there's no reason to fear it, just more unnecessary tasks and services to disable.

        It is said the same thing that I highlighted in <1>, if the configuration is too old to support 24H2, it will be the same with 25H2, which is a direct copy of it.

    For a while now, the Spanish builds have been the same as the French ones.

    25H2 is said to add nothing new compared to 24H2 other than extending the end of the cycle and therefore relies on 24H2.

    We could skip from 23H2 or even earlier through one of the installation methods.

    It's not clear what specific problems 24H2 has posed that couldn't also arise in other versions for certain users, except that some configurations have been reported as incompatible, and the same will likely apply to 25H2.

      The "monkey money" was more likely to be known as the rupee when it's from a starling, although that has nothing to do with the currency itself, or the kopeck (it's not worth one), since by definition it is one hundredth of the ruble, which has never been worth much (currently €0.01, so the kopeck is one ten-thousandth of a euro).

        The computer is definitely compatible since it's already on 23H2.

        The question is whether there is a justified fear of issues under 24H2 (which will be the same under 25H2 since it's a copy-paste) that have been reported for certain hardware configurations, but there is no solution to that.

        My recent PC (late 2024/2025) being compatible, at startup, Windows 25h2 was offered, which I didn't expect so soon, it was the surprise of the day, because on other up-to-date W11 PCs with the latest Windows Update patches that I checked, it was not offered, but Microsoft will be deploying 25h2 gradually.

        A simple reboot (2 minutes was enough) in my case:

        Of course, as usual and like the ESU Windows 10 that has generated a lot of ink.

        That said, there’s no need to panic because it’s reported that the only innovation of 25H2 is to push back the end of the cycle date, thus the support, of 24H2 which is in principle October 2026.
