HP Envy 7830 touchscreen not working?

Hello

I have an HP Envy Photo 7830 printer with a touch screen.

My touch screen is no longer working properly.

Indeed, when I select a function on the home screen of my touch screen (for example, copy), it takes me to a window displaying explanatory videos, HP usage tips, etc... whereas before I could select documents and then copy.

Another example:

to turn off my printer; when (as usual) I press the "power" button and then press stop on my touch screen: my touch screen shows me the home window again with the different functions, and my printer does not turn off. To turn off my printer now, I have to unplug the power supply.

Could my touch screen be defective?

What do you think?

I have already tried to integrate drivers and fixes for my printer: nothing works...

if that is the case (my touch screen is defective), could you point me to a website that sells touch screens for HP printers? I am handy and I believe I can change the touch screen myself. I actually have a technical background. I cannot find such websites on the internet... Moreover, my printer is no longer under warranty and HP's customer service is chargeable in that case.

NOTE:

I also notice that some buttons on my touch screen (on the left side) such as the question mark or the "back" arrow are not responsive when I press them?

Thank you in advance for your information and your responses.

It seems there is a problem with the touchscreen of your printer. Before thinking about replacing it, try the following steps to possibly resolve the issue:

    1. Restart your printer. Unplug it, wait a few minutes, then plug it back in.
    2. Update your printer's firmware. HP regularly provides updates. You can find those for your model on the official HP website.
    3. If the problem persists, perform a factory reset on your printer. You will find instructions on how to do this in your printer's manual.

If after completing all these steps the problem persists, it is very likely that the touchscreen is faulty.

Unfortunately, replacement parts for printers are not easily available in the retail market, and a touchscreen for a specific model like yours may be difficult to find. I recommend contacting HP directly or looking for a computer equipment repair center near you that might have access to these parts. You should also consider that the cost of the part and replacement could be close to the cost of a new printer.

    Hello,

I tried your advice: it didn’t help... still the same problem...

I think my touchscreen is dead.

    Thank you for your advice.
