Portable console manufacturing

Hello,

I don’t know if this kind of question has been asked before or not. I would like to recreate a small handheld console from scratch - like a Game & Watch - with the components, programming, and everything...

Ideally, it would either be a simple electronic game invented on sports (basketball, tennis, or soccer), or something that would allow emulating all the existing G&W games.

Are there any tutorials on this subject? Have people tried their hand at building or (re)creating small consoles?

I know that this kind of project can be long and tedious, but time is not an issue for me; I am ready to learn every step and invest in the necessary equipment. This small personal project has been close to my heart for some time, and I welcome any advice.

Thank you to those who take a few minutes to respond.

Hello

Creating everything from scratch, not using tutorials and not being here often, even if some people are doing it.

It does resemble the manipulations of some students, with educational material and a few carefully chosen parts when necessary.

"Patience has gotten the better of me, I'm in the process of ordering a second-hand laptop (due to budget) while waiting to find something better in the long run."

In the meantime; that's patience, we're making progress.

Yes but no for the laptop, that bug annoyed me which just wouldn’t resolve itself (even with all the patience in the world). Today, the laptop is just used for gaming since the wifi drops every 2 minutes... Anyway.

Otherwise, there are others who already have their hands in the grease to the point of making shopping lists on raspberry, and from here it seems that there are quite a few common points; it will all come down to digging into the details:
