Beginner Hyper-V ...

Hello,

I’m starting with Hyper-V and I’m not a networking expert… At least I’m clear :-).

I have a Windows 11 PRO PC on which I enabled Hyper-V and successfully created a Windows 10 PRO VM.

Needing to transfer data between the two, I have 2 issues:
- Unable to activate Enhanced Session Mode
- Networking between the two machines (host and VM) is impossible, but I can access the Internet from the VM

I tried with the Virtual Switch Manager, but I’ve reached my limits.

Is there a kind soul who can tell me how to do it (or at least where to find a document detailing the steps)?

Thank you in advance

    Hello,

configure the network of the virtual machine in "Bridge" mode or network bridge.
Then, from the host PC or the VM, create a directory that will be easy to access (for example directly on the C: drive) and share it (right-click -> Properties -> Sharing). This will normally be accessible on the other machine, just transfer the data manually.

      Hello,

Note in passing that virtualization software (VMWare on my end) does not require enabling Windows' hyper-V virtualization, which is always a bit awkward, and that VMWare always includes the ability to share a specific folder of its choosing on the host, which sometimes leaves the question of configuring the sharing a bit complex compared to other folders (always easiest in Bridge mode).
