0271 : erreur de configuration de la date et de l'heure dans le BIOS

Hello,
when starting up on an HP dv9000 PC I get a message on the BIOS
0271: check date and time setting
0251: system CMOS checksum bad - default configuration used

my computer is only 10 months old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT TO DO ?????????????
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

It is often enough to change the motherboard battery, but be careful, you need one identical to the model already present, so take the model before going to buy one!

Does the motherboard need the battery when the power supply is plugged in?? Are you sure?? Isn't it just a backup in case of a power cut??

Anyway, give it a try; it doesn't cost much :)

But it's weird because the error message says: "check the date and time/clock settings" and "system CMOS checksum?? bad -- default configuration not used"

Enter your BIOS at startup by pressing delete and set the date and time; you never know :p

It says "date" and not "data", right?
