Red LED CPU motherboard

Hello,

I bought a new CPU (AMD RYZEN 7 5800X3D), a new GPU, additional RAM, an SSD, and a power supply to upgrade my PC. The red LED on the CPU on the motherboard stays lit. With my old CPU, it turns off.

I tried changing the slots of my RAM, but it doesn't make a difference. No pins on the CPU are damaged. I also tried updating the BIOS of my motherboard since it's not very recent (X470 GAMING M7 AC). The flash only worked once and didn’t change anything. After trying to remove the BIOS battery and putting it back, I can no longer flash the BIOS at all.

I called a computer technician and he told me the CPU is probably defective and I should try it on another motherboard. But that’s not possible.

Does anyone have a solution?

Hello

The 5800X3D is not natively supported by this motherboard.

Replace your old processor and check the BIOS version; if it's not the latest, you need to flash it with the old CPU (avoiding a beta version).

PS: a brand new dead CPU right out of the box doesn't exist.

Did you use the BIOS update for the Ryzen 7 5800X3D (7B77v1I.zip)? If not, if you can, also consider changing your motherboard to one powered by the B550 chipset, which will optimize the performance of your CPU. Right now, you can find them at affordable prices.
