It is possible to customize the themes of each Messenger conversation.

Can we also customize the notifications, meaning have a different notification for each conversation (each contact)?

If so, how?

    No, it is not possible to customize notifications for each conversation individually on Facebook Messenger. All notifications will sound the same. However, you can toggle between silent and notification modes for specific conversations. To do this, you need to open the conversation, click on the person's name at the top, and then select "Notifications." There, you can choose to enable or disable notifications for that conversation.
