Hello everyone.

Since this morning, when I try to open BRAVE, I get a white screen for half a second and nothing opens. I tried reinstalling BRAVE and also repairing AVAST since I saw that it could cause this kind of problem. But no better. I am on Win10.

Thank you for the upcoming replies.

The problem is BRAVE, but in the prompt, I only had the choice between Firefox, Chrome, and Internet Explorer.

So I did a test on Firefox to see how the log worked, but it crashed all my bookmarks.

Hello,

1st Point: Uninstall AVAST which creates a conflict with Windows Defender, the default antivirus for Windows 10.

2nd Point: Clear the cache of the BRAVE browser.

Hello Panth and thank you for the quick response. I removed AVAST but I can't clear the BRAVE cache because I can't open its home window. I'm still having the same problem. I should also mention that everything has been working fine like this for several years. I had disabled the Windows antivirus.

Good evening kaneagle

I followed the steps.

ResetBrowser emptied FireFox of all my bookmarks, so now I have nothing left.

As for the second step, I've also done it following Malekal's tutorial: no better results.

Thank you for the help.

On the resetbrowser tutorial, it is clearly mentioned that a backup of your bookmarks and passwords is made.

Did you need to use resetbrowser for Brave ????

Is the issue with Firefox or Brave?

Phew... one good thing. I just retrieved my bookmarks through Firefox, I admit I don't know how that worked since they were saved in BRAVE. But well... that's done.

Now I need to get BRAVE working again.

Follow the procedure with Revo Uninstaller.

Back up your favorites before proceeding.

OK. I made two backups of my favorites just to be safe. But now I don’t understand anything, BRAVE has returned as it was before with all my settings even though I had completely deleted it and reinstalled it without success. So it should have come back in its initialized mode and not like this. I’m starting to wonder if this problem doesn’t indicate an upcoming crash? In any case, thanks for the advice.

BRAVE has returned just as it left with all my settings

Happy for you.
Have a good evening.

The problem comes from those who use Ccleaner and Avast. Ccleaner disables Brave and you cannot reactivate it. It disables it because you do not use it often; otherwise, I do not know the reason.

So first you need to uninstall Brave (which no longer works), then Ccleaner, then download Glary Utilities 5 (or newer) and do a good cleanup so that there are no traces left of Brave and Ccleaner.

Once you have done this, you download a brand new Brave with Chrome and install it. And it will work.

You can stay without Ccleaner because Glary Utilities does the same job and cleans much better. Everything is free.

I had this problem and I solved it in the way I just mentioned.
