Disk partition problem

Hello

I performed an operation with AOMEI Partition software. I have two partitions: C as the main one and D.

I reduced the capacity of partition D and merged the unallocated space I gained with C. The addition was successfully applied, but my partition D has disappeared. I can see it in Disk Management, but I cannot assign it a letter.

Moreover, Windows 11 no longer assigns letters to devices, for example, when I connect a USB drive or an external hard drive, they do not mount and I cannot access the data.

Can you please help me? Is there a solution to my problem without losing the data on my partition D?

I have a Dell Latitude 7390.

Windows 11 Pro

Thank you very much.

    Hello,

You completely turn off the PC, then wait for a moment and restart it again.

Here it is. Translation in English:

The operation failed because the Disk Management console view is not up to date. Refresh the view using the refresh task. If the problem persists, close the Disk Management console, then restart Disk Management or restart the computer.

      Hi,

You really shouldn't mess with partitions because it can crash a PC in no time.

      There's a guide for Aomei:

      https://www.aomei.fr/docs/AOMEI_Backupper_UserManual.pdf

It's like (and this is just an example) installing multiple antivirus software, leading to a fight between them and the strongest one crashing everything as well.

You're also using 11 on top of that.

      Hello,

This is a tool for Windows 10; even assuming it works on Windows 11, I don't see what it has to do with the question, the PC drivers are presumably not the cause.

The rest is a bit confusing, what does a Windows Club screenshot have to do with it, has a software invoking it (for example Windows Ultimate Tweaker) been implemented and why?

Check if the data that was on D: has been merged onto C:; if not, the false manipulation will have resulted in permanent loss.

Regarding the disk manager, is it the one from Windows, from AOMEI, or both that are inoperable?

Repairing the partitions is possible using Diskpart from an installation media, but it is a technical and difficult process to implement; a simpler solution is likely to use a third-party partition manager to repair, for example Puppy Linux which we will create a USB bootable media via Rufus, see here in IV and V.
