Playing the Wii (old version) with a USB wired controller

Hello,
I just bought an old version of the Wii (so it's not possible to connect a GameCube controller).
I do not want to use the remote at all because I do not want to use batteries.
Therefore, I would like to use a USB controller.
Has anyone done this before? Do I need a device for compatibility?
I watched a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pMZNNboN8s

Is this the only solution?

Thanks!

Or is there a wired power connection system for the wiimote to replace the batteries?

Hello. The Wiimote uses a battery in my opinion, and/or batteries. Why don't you want to use batteries and prefer to use the battery? You can use rechargeable batteries if it's a question of environment and economy and if you don't have a battery.

Well yes, I think I'm going to have to do that...

Are you that bored, even though they are rechargeable batteries? lol. And you don't have a battery? The Wiimote has one.

No, I don't have the battery. Yes, I admit it's not an ecological concern. But I'm still going to use rechargeable batteries as you suggested. It's WAY more simple than figuring out how to work with a USB controller :)
Thanks for your messages anyway!

With pleasure. It's rare for me to get a response when I help out, so I was pleasantly surprised by your reply. At least I feel useful, and that eases things a bit. I don't often help because of this, and it gives me a bit of company, lol... To get back to the topic: Yes, batteries are definitely better than everything else and easier to use;)
