What does this cross mean on Snapchat?

So I have La Croix but we were friends before, so I assume he removed me, but the question is since I still have the green check on my side as I accepted him as a friend, how can I send a friend request again? Because when I open the conversation, I have all the messages saved, nothing else (no message saying so-and-so is not your friend).

And another contact is no longer in my friends, but I still have the camera icon, how can I tell? Am I removed or not?

I have the same problem, yes I think like you but I can send him messages, he receives them and replies to me...so how to explain the grey cross next to his username and that in the chat window, in the top right there is the blue icon "+" to add but it's true that when I click on it, it doesn’t work. If you see this "Added" button, it means that your friend has removed you from their contacts.
