Windows XP - Unable to connect to the internet

Hello,
I just reinstalled Windows XP on an Acer laptop. The network connection is fine (cable and Wi-Fi) but I can't connect to the internet with IE.
After running the network diagnostic, I get the message: "Windows cannot connect to the Internet using HTTP, HTTPS, or FTP, ... probably firewall settings."
I have disabled the firewall but it still doesn't work.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi,
Do you have a static IP or a DHCP IP assigned by a router?
What does a ping to Google return in the command line?
And what about with another browser (if you can access one)?
See you, blux "Idiots will try anything.

Hi
You need at least IE 8 and its update or Firefox 52 ESR

At the same time, Windows Update on XP..... what do you want to get out of it?
Which XP SP are you on?
I need to check, I think we could still access WU through another path.
Edit: https://catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=xp
There is also a post-SP3 pack to install as its name suggests after SP3.

Thank you blux for your help.
I have an IP obtained via DHCP from my box.
I pinged google.com and there were no errors! (0% packet loss)
I therefore suppose that the blockage comes from IE (?)
I can't get another browser. I've tried with Firefox, Chrome, Opera and each time, I only download the setup program for the download.
