Water-damaged screen

Hello, I spilled some water at the back of my computer monitor and there are openings, so the water got inside. The screen went black right after, followed by a burnt smell. I unplugged it and then plugged it back in a little while later; there was an image but with very low brightness. I unplugged it again. Is my monitor dead or is there a chance it could work again?

Hello,

There's a chance it might be dead, with a short circuit between the components. You should have let it dry for a long enough time before turning it back on, starting by drying it with a hairdryer set on low heat.
