Remove Messenger contact without blocking

Solved

Hello,

I am trying to remove Messenger contacts who are not my Facebook friends, just people I’ve chatted with without being friends, but without blocking them.

Various forums mention that you need to go to the Messenger contacts list, then there’s a small "i" icon next to each contact to remove them. However, I don’t have that "i" next to the contacts.

Neither the computer version nor the Messenger app works.

I have a Samsung Android.

Thank you

Configuration: Android / Chrome 101.0.4951.61

    Hello and welcome to CCM

The i in information isn’t meant for that anyway. Even though it indeed needs to be present.
You cannot "remove" a contact since they are not part of your contacts in Messenger.
If you don’t want to block them, then the only solution is to delete or archive the conversation.
This can be done (on PC) with the ... to the left of the window and to the right of your correspondent's name.
Once archived and/or deleted, the conversation disappears and the name of the correspondent as well from your list on the left.

At least until you or they start another conversation.

    Best regards
