I plug in my USB stick or external drive and I can't record anything

      Yes, but not only on certain TVs; you can also record if the TV is equipped with the PVR function....

    First of all, thank you for your responses.....
    It should be possible to record with a USB key or external memory, it's written in the manual but I can't get it to work, what is the PVR function??

      The specification here states that this television does not have recording functionality.

      The user manual can be found here and as explained in the first response, the PVR mode (recording...) is not available on this television.
