Transparent Window Widgets for Windows 11

Question

Hello, the Windows 11 widgets are not displaying .. I followed all the instructions to fix the problem, but nothing works .. I still have the large transparent window that appears on the left side of the screen .. if someone could help me .. thank you for your responses.  bibou12902001

If the link doesn't work, it's the CCM bot that doesn't want it. In that case, download the link from this page The download is on ''Mega'' which hosts it.  -1- Click on --► MicrosoftWindows.Client.WebExperience_421.20050.505.0_neutral___cw5n1h2txyewy -2- And click on --►Reinstall   Duration 2 minutes.   Wait again if WIdgets displays a black window. Click again on the Widgets icon on the taskbar.   Soon (we don't know when, Microsoft holds the cards) an update will be available in the Microsoft Store. So, check back from time to time.   @+

I tried to uninstall Windows Web Experience Pack This is what opens Widgets.  Command Powershell as Administrator winget uninstall "Windows web experience Pack"    And reinstall it from the Microsoft Store:     Without result, struck out.   @+  -- scalpel

White cabbage when changing the default browser (setting Microsoft Edge as default). The process to do this is a "disaster" (a maze) compared to W10 (given that it is expected to have the same procedure as W10). I set Firefox as the default to return to my choice.   I'm using a Microsoft account.  White cabbage when disabling my graphics card in the device manager I therefore reactivated it.   White cabbage when restarting Windows Explorer.   White cabbage when disabling Widgets then reactivating it in the taskbar settings.   White cabbage with gpedit.msc --► Allow Widgets   White cabbage when killing the Widgets process in the task manager.   @+

Hi Panth33,  The three ellipsis do not appear (we can't configure anything ''tutorial'').   I uninstalled the driver for my graphics card installed just after the KB5010386 update In safe mode with DDU.  I checked in the meantime if Widgets displayed the images and therefore the ellipsis. Without success. I reinstalled the latest version of the Nvidia driver in my case.  I updated Explorer Patcher because I thought it might be the culprit. No luck despite restarting Windows Explorer.   I will try to uninstall KB5010386   We'll see, as Pierrot whom I greet says, that it's not certain that it's the update (I thought of that hence a lot of classic tests). But we have to rule out the possibilities. See you later for the result. Knowing that the update will reinstall, and I don't want to block it if it's the culprit  @+ -- pistouri

Hello,  I too am affected by the bug: this morning, no more widgets!  The only thing I did since my last post was a restart of the computer (following a software update).  I won’t touch anything and will wait for the fix.  What one thinks clearly can be stated clearly, And the words to express it come easily. (Boileau)

If W11 is up to date as of February 9, I haven't seen any information about a new update scheduled as a fix regarding the Widgets bug. There aren't many people in other forums in the same situation, looking for a possible workaround. It's good if an update can fix the problem.  In the meantime, Widgets are available in Microsoft Edge. And even in the form of a floating bar. To do this: Click on the hamburger menu at the top right. Additional Tools --►Launch Edge The gear icon is used to access the Microsoft Edge settings to adjust the floating bar, whose real name is ''Edge Bar''     @+

A start of response on Widget 11 (On Reddit on 02/11/2022). ==► Widgets stuck after updating Web Exp Pack  --►The issue is resolved by uninstalling via Powershell and installing the old version. Build 22000.493. But after the update via the Win store, they got stuck again. Same problem on Office PC. Well done MS.  --►The developers are investigating this issue.  That was indeed what intrigued me --► #4 The problem is all the more complicated for reinstalling an old version. Not for lack of trying, but I didn’t quite get it with Powershell. Magical!!!  I don't know by what chance, but the magic has worked. Widgets is back after shutting down and restarting the PC (between a nap to summarize).   Whether this will last over time or after another restart of the PC remains to be seen.  @ see you later  -- pistouri

According to what I understood, an update of the Windows Web Experience Pack fixes the issue. This happens in the Microsoft Store --►Get updates   But I am up to date.   I searched for updates. Here it is, the continuation. I hadn't seen in Microsoft this dialog box (probably either while trying to open Windows Web Experience Pack or while quitting the Microsoft Store). I decided to click on --►Reinstall   And even if a previous version is already installed, I clicked on --►Reinstall   It's quick (1 minute).   To finish, click on --►Close   Widgets 11 are working again.   I’m not celebrating yet, you never know what might happen later.   -- pistouri

Subject to follow on the Microsoft side ==► windows 11 widget  This update completely breaks the Widgets panel (that was my first thought). Since the last update for Windows 11 dated February 9, 2022, the same goes for the widgets! The processor is trying to open it in the background. In my opinion, a fix is needed for this. Full ventilation! So I stop the process myself every time at startup  The Windows Web Experience Pack is a package used to update all integrated web features in Windows 11 (including the Widgets panel). The problem is that this update completely breaks the Widgets panel, leaving it empty and significantly increasing the processor load due to the process trying to execute over and over again unsuccessfully. I grimaced all day over that damn Widgets.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.   You have to remember that at some point Microsoft will put the weather icon back on the taskbar.  I don't know what will become of Widgets.   For now, since I don't like doing things halfway, the links from Widgets (like when you click on a news item or the weather) by default open with Microsoft Edge.  An application allows you to open Widgets links with your default browser.  It's MSEdgeRedirect  Save the .exe    When launched, a dialog box will ask you to set your default browser if you're not using Microsoft Edge.  And this is where everything gets complicated, as I've said, a "disaster," a maze.   Let's take an example to set Firefox as the default so that Widgets links open with it.   Go to Settings --► Apps --► Default apps  Scroll down the list to Firefox.  Select Firefox for: .htm .html .HTTP .HTTPS   A picture is worth a thousand words.    For example, for .html, click on the small square icon with a arrow.  Select Firefox.  Click OK.    The same for the rest:    Open Widgets.  Click, for example, on the weather.  The link correctly opens in a new tab in Firefox    @+

We can indeed cross our fingers while waiting for a fix in the Microsoft Store.   This is what I don't understand:  How are Windows 11 widgets broken?The issue was an update to the "Windows Web Experience Pack" that arrived today via the Microsoft Store. These updates are often installed automatically on our devices, which is almost never a problem (though this time it obviously is).  It's the word automatically. So why do we sometimes have to do certain updates manually in the Microsoft Store? But in the end, it's better that they are automatic because all these Store applications are from Microsoft and it saves us an extra hassle. But when the update fails, it becomes burdensome. Most of the time it's only for a short duration. The Microsoft team (USA) needs to be attentive and ready to react to not penalize users for a temporary bug, which they do each time. Let's remember that W11 is barely 6 months old.  @+   -- pistouri

Hello and happy Sunday,  It seems that as of today the W11 Widgets issue is resolved. Automatic update from the Microsoft Store.  In summary  Access the Store and make sure the Web Experience Pack is updated.   Web Experience Pack If you try to open the Web Experience Pack and it doesn't open (in my case, I don’t really know why, but I have my idea, anyway Widgets 11 works).  Moreover, in the Microsoft Store the description ''Web Experience Pack'' is labeled W10 which is not true or the case on W11.    A bug evidently (Don't take it into account and it’s not the only one). -------------------------------- This morning, I was caught off guard by my brother who has W11. His story is that he had no Internet and no landline phone even though the ringer was working (no incoming and outgoing calls). He told me he had cleaned up so I thought it might be a cable connection issue, but he checked everything even though he doesn't know much about it. Anyway, I went over early and found, despite everything, the green light on his SFR box (The V7 box which I don’t know as I’m with FREE). It wasn’t the cable connections, and on top of that he made a mess panicking (I understand the brother). He activated the wired network while his PC is on Wifi 7; he has both possibilities just like me). I had to reactivate the Wifi card in the device manager (wireless). (And not just that) But no box in sight, his box, after restarting the PC. It was spinning in my head and I eventually found it. (It's his cleaning story, of course he messed up). I had also checked everything and the box lights were green. The culprit is the Wifi button on his SFR V7 box.  Not easy to figure out (Even in broad daylight). Everything is black on this SFR V7 Box. Barely visible if off or disabled (You have to know that, and I didn’t see it because there are 2 buttons above the box on a black background, the other button is the WPS). I finally saw it, but not just that… What...? Once activated (in 10 seconds) the Internet came back on his PC, but I had to select his box from the available networks. And to think that he had the problem for 3 days, and of course unreachable by phone. This also impacted my nephew (a student and no Internet for 3 days). It was my parents who told him to contact me since they hadn't heard from him and without news you start to wonder, even if my brother is bad with computers he had the good idea to activate mobile data with his smartphone, which was done from another phone. (I would have done the same). That was after some insisting… See, when you worry... He should have told me beforehand, the brother (but he missed not being on the Internet, accounts, sites...). I'm not the miracle solution, but I have some computer knowledge. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next step is Widgets (W11 on his PC). Given that an update was available in Windows Update, updates were waiting to be installed. (a slight update delay) because I take care of my brother's PC.  The internet connection was established, I had a fear about that, but it was indeed the Wifi button on the Box.  In the meantime, I checked and clicked on the Widgets 11 icon. Widgets 11 works. I didn’t have time to check in the Microsoft Store. Which means that Microsoft has fixed it via an automatic update of the ''Web Experience Pack'' It is not the Windows Update but indeed the Microsoft Store update.  For my part, Widgets W11 is operational, and even though an old version of ''Web Experience Pack'' had worked around the issue.  If you could mention on the CCM forum that Widgets 11 seems operational. The same question for Pierrot.  @ Happy Sunday.

Just since this morning, the widget icon in the center has transformed into a weather cloud and has been positioned at the bottom left of the screen... Hi Bilou,  Thanks for this feedback (clarifications).  It's normal, well, it's not made normal, at first glance. And that's not all. Causes UPDATE.  Because it's the Insider program that gets priority for this. So maybe you are in that case. Me and "Pierrot", none of that.  since this morning, the widget icon in the center has turned into a weather cloud  That looks like the ''Insiders'' program. Me, I don't have any of that. Hello everyone,  Since last night, a W11 update is available (I am currently doing it). It's the KB5010414  Since the Widget problem seems to be fixed, but not only that, the weather icon would only be present on the taskbar if the taskbar is centered. I can't wait to see it, as I use Explorer Patcher to fine-tune the W11 taskbar.  Maybe there will be comments to make about this. Debate open.  New! Add weather content to the left side of the taskbar if the taskbar is center-aligned. When you hover over the weather, the Widgets panel appears on the left side of the screen and disappears when you stop hovering over the area.  Bibou already had it since he is with Windows Insider, ahead of the stable W11 version.   See you later!

Hi Pierrot,  It was announced as I said for the weather icon on the taskbar, a bit like a step back to W10. We'll have to get used to it. The main thing is that Widgets 11 is operational.
