Nvidia Control Panel not opening

Strange all this, even me who had problems with the Nvidia panel it didn't do that to me.
The command for the Microsoft Store > WSReset.exe is to clear the store cache.

To explain to you, a while ago I installed my audio driver, no problem, but I couldn't get the audio console that manages the audio of my motherboard; I tried everything. While searching, I found this solution to clear the Microsoft Store cache, which I did, and I was finally able to install the audio console. So I thought you had a problem with the Nvidia control panel and the store. When I install the driver, it extracts the files and I let Nvidia manage the location; I don't touch it, so that's normal.

If it gives you an error, I don't understand why; I wonder if your Windows has a problem. You will run the commands in the command prompt like for the store to see if you have any corrupted or damaged files.

If this does not resolve your issue, I suggest running an SFC scan. SFC scans help identify corrupt files and automatically repair them.

To run the SFC /SCANNOW command:

Right-click on the Start menu.
Left-click on Command Prompt (Admin) to run the tool with administrator rights.
The command prompt window will appear
Type: SFC /SCANNOW and press Enter

If the SFC/SCANNOW command did not find any damaged files, I now invite you to run the DISM tool to check the Windows system. To do this,

1. Right-click on Start and select Command Prompt (admin).

2. Type the following commands. Press Enter after each command:

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /CheckHealth

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /ScanHealth
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

I had the exact same problem; right click on the desktop > Nvidia control panel and nothing would open or launch without any error message. It was by uninstalling the Nvidia driver and control panel that I managed to fix the issue. After uninstalling everything, I reinstalled the Nvidia control panel via the Microsoft Store and installed the latest driver for my graphics card, and my Nvidia panel started working again.

I don't understand why it worked for me and not for you. Run a full scan with your antivirus to see if you have a virus. Check if there are any updates for Windows.

- Otherwise, try what I did, in the settings button > Windows+i > Applications > Nvidia control panel > uninstall.

- Uninstall your graphics card driver with DDU.
- Install the Nvidia control panel via Microsoft Store.
- Install your graphics card driver, choose custom installation > check like a new installation and see if it works.

However, I did the same thing and it worked, and since then my Nvidia control panel is working again. Until then, it wouldn't open; I restarted my PC and it came back.

If Microsoft Store is bugging during download, there must be an issue somewhere because even with all the manipulations, your Nvidia panel doesn't want to work; that's not normal.

We should see if you can do a system restore of Windows if you have a backup from a date prior to your Nvidia panel issue?

Otherwise, you'll have to try a Windows repair; that's all I see left. Good idea, try asking Nvidia if they have any idea about the problem.

I had exactly the same problem a few days ago with the Nvidia control panel not launching when I right-clicked on the desktop. The only solution that worked for me was to uninstall the Nvidia driver using DDU and install the latest Nvidia driver.

> Download the latest driver for your graphics card.
> Use DDU to uninstall your driver.
> Install your driver, select advanced settings > check "clean installation."

Normally, it should work again.

No more, that piece of shit Microsoft Store is telling me that an error occurred and there's no way to install it. I had to reinstall the driver on top and restart to see the NVIDIA Control Panel reappear. So back to square one, this problem is an incredible vicious circle.

And no doubt about the installed driver version. GeForce GTX 1660, Windows 10.

When I install this famous driver, it tells me: Specify the folder where the driver files are to be saved.
And it extracts everything here: C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\496.76\Win11_Win10-DCH_64\International
But that's the location it defaults to, so I doubt the problem comes from there.

Still not good, SFC apparently fixed something but I don't know what.
DISM didn't find anything.

The problem is that there isn't even an error system, nothing at all, it just doesn't respond. Through the start bar, I also tried to launch the NVIDIA control panel as an administrator, but again, no response, no confirmation, no errors, nothing.

So I tried all that and it didn’t work, and there are some strange things.
The same thing happened as usual:
- Uninstalling the NVIDIA Control Panel
- DDU
- Microsoft fails because at the end of the download, it tells me that an error occurred.

So I reinstall the driver, restart, and the NVIDIA Control Panel appears as installed but nothing launches.

However, strange thing, I watched that second video you kindly shared with me.
It turns out that at the 3:00 mark, in my services, there is no 'NVIDIA Display Driver Service'

It really seems that it can’t even install properly, and when it does automatically while downloading the driver, well, it hasn’t really installed.
I’ll try to contact NVIDIA tomorrow.
And I checked, no viruses and no updates.
