Hello!
Yesterday, I bought a Micro SD card for my Samsung phone, and everything was fine until about two hours ago when this card suddenly went READ ONLY by itself. I searched for two hours on how to format it, but obviously, you can’t format it in read-only mode... so I looked for ways to remove this plague but absolutely nothing works. Win+R with diskpart, or that thing, egedit, where you have to set "1" to "0" in DeviceSupplies, I even tried cleaning it with alcohol and grounding it, restarting my PC, and doing egedit again...
I bought it yesterday, it's really a shame ;-; Do you think it’s dead?

Hello,
Sure, the question is nearly 6 months old, but I had two similar issues with a new SD card for my phone: 32 GB, to replace the previous 16 GB.
Issue 1: card is dead (even though I always make sure to properly disconnect it under Windows or the mobile)
The programs to repair SD cards on a PC are good, but what to do when the card is inserted and Windows doesn't detect it?!
I had put the 16 GB back...
Solution: at one point I had the idea to put it in my camera... and voila, recognized, formatted by the camera. Then, put back in the mobile which asked me to format it, and since then it works fine.
Issue 2: yesterday, no way to transfer files or folders from the PC to the card... and no way to delete them from the file manager on the mobile.
It smelled like a surprise read-only setting...
Solution: in Android, Settings, Storage, I uninstalled the card.
I didn't take it out of the mobile (it takes fingers of fairy).
A minute later (don’t rush the equipment), I reinstalled it.
And it worked!
