Outlook Hacking - Successful Synchronization?

Hello,
I recently logged into an old email account, and while checking my login history, I see fraudulent login attempts. All of them failed.
However, I also see this: a successful synchronization from China using the IMAP protocol.
I have automatically changed my password, but I would like to know what this means?
Do they have my old password? Did they connect through an app with my Outlook credentials?
Should I take any additional steps to secure my account?
Thank you for your help.
Configuration: Windows / Chrome 92.0.4515.131
