Hello,
My old machine runs on Linux Mint Mate and I would like to donate it to a charity, but I couldn't find the command for the terminal to reset the machine just in case.
Best regards

There's no need to rush, you must start on time.

Hello,
The best solution is to perform a complete reinstallation as there is no command to reset the system. In any case, there is no recovery partition like in Windows.
In the live USB boot menu, you choose the OEM install (for manufacturers) option.
During the first startup, the new owner will only need to configure their account (username, password).
