Once on the link, I am asked for a postal code that is mentioned in the email. I would like to know what the postal code in question is.

      Hello, I received this message by SMS and I'm afraid it might be a scam because I recently had a PayPal account but I deleted it shortly after. I don't know if this is true or not, so I would rather pay...

    To my recollection, PayPal does not send this type of SMS. I say to my recollection.

    And it does not make mistakes in the words (email is a mail, not a SMS).

    I think you can safely ignore this message, but wait for other opinions to be sure.

    Phishing, or fishing, is one of the main threats coming from the Internet. This scamming technique appeared in 2005 and has continuously evolved since then to improve. Fortunately, there are ways to unmask this kind of attempt.

    It is a counterfeit page; I’ll give you a tip that allows you to discern the real from the fake.
    Generally speaking, on a counterfeit page like the one in your link, you just need to click on the various offered links, for example, "Contact Us", and then you will realize that nothing happens; the link in question does not lead you anywhere (you stay on the original page), which proves that it is a counterfeit page.

    For example, on the official "Orange" site, when you click on the various links available, you will be inevitably redirected to another page.
