Livebox 5 and ExFAT External Hard Drive

Hello everyone,

I just switched to Orange after years with Free.

I have a Livebox 5 on which I want to be able to read external hard drives of 2 TB formatted in exFAT. I use this formatting because I'm on Mac, and this format allows for large files (over 2 GB).

The problem is that the Livebox 5 doesn't like exFAT.

I did try connecting my hard drive to my Mac and then using Airplay on my TV, but I lose a lot of image quality.

Do you have any suggestions for me?

I wasn't originally keen on investing in a NAS server and internal hard drives, but if I have to resign myself to it...

Thanks everyone

Bob

    Hi,
at the same time, a box isn't really a NAS, even if it's handy, each to their own.
And exFAT was a proprietary Microsoft format, not that long ago.
The day Windows supports ext3 (which is open source) will be pretty nice too.

      So what do I do?
Should I invest in a NAS that has a Mac-compatible formatting and is also compatible with the Livebox or is there another trick?

well, try formatting it in NTFS ....
it's not free either, but it's more widespread.
