Password recovery for "Mail" software

Question

Good evening,
I have a Wanadoo address for which I can't remember the password. It was the secondary address of an account that no longer exists today, so there’s no way to recover or change the password through Orange.
The only email client where the password is still saved is Mail on Windows 10. But I can't retrieve it despite my attempts with Mail PassView.

Hi  Not very clear but anyway, why CCM doesn't help to recover a lost password

Hello @Aldebaran,

Any canceled account remains accessible for the legal period of 6 months. After this period, it is completely and simply deleted without notice, along with its secondary addresses and all their content (emails and contacts).
If the cancellation was more than 6 months ago, recovery is impossible, and it is normal that the password no longer works.

This is far from a rule.

I canceled my Orange account over a year ago (phew ..), and my email addresses still work.

Moreover, it seems that the issue is to recover the password for this address, without Orange's support (It was the secondary address of an account that no longer exists today, so there’s no way to recover or change the password via Orange.), in the Microsoft Mail client.

I also couldn't find a way to view this password in Mail like you can in other email clients.

And yet, this is indeed the rule, but it often happens that Orange "forgets" to apply it and keeps the account active beyond the legal 6 months, at the user's own risk, since the account can disappear at any time and without notice.

@kaumune  Okay, most people know this Except you, apparently.  And that's not the question asked Yes, but that's my answer because what use is the old password of a vanished account? A bit of logic, come on!  @Aldebaran clearly wrote "It was the secondary address of an account that no longer exists today, so no way to recover or change the password via Orange."  I confirm: Any attempt to recover through Orange or its customer service will be doomed to failure because the first thing these routines or services do is verify that the account is indeed active and charged. Free access has disappeared since August 2017 and Orange isn't surviving on fresh air and clean water!  BYE
