However, with a caveat, the appearance of conditioning can create condensation phenomena on certain surfaces with temperature/humidity differences, and therefore, it is not recommended either. Other posts have addressed this topic and the conclusion was decidedly less optimistic.

  Hello, I'm putting in my two cents; I would side more with Ulysses. I also have an air conditioner and having a TV at the foot of a wall where the air conditioner is fixed means no turbulence is directed towards the TV. Now, if it is used to cool and a cold airflow is directly hitting the TV "ceiling diffuser," it can create temperature variations in the summer when we turn off the air conditioning and thus promote condensation.
