Prevent the recycle bin from emptying automatically

Pour empêcher la corbeille de se vider automatiquement, vous devez vérifier les paramètres de votre système d'exploitation. Voici comment faire cela sur différents systèmes :

### Windows :
1. Faites un clic droit sur la corbeille sur votre bureau.
2. Sélectionnez "Propriétés".
3. Dans la fenêtre qui s'ouvre, assurez-vous que l'option "Ne pas déplacer les éléments vers la Corbeille. Supprimer les fichiers immédiatement après leur suppression" n'est pas cochée.
4. Cliquez sur "OK" pour enregistrer les changements.

### macOS :
1. Ouvrez le Finder.
2. Cliquez sur "Finder" dans la barre de menu, puis sélectionnez "Préférences".
3. Allez à l'onglet "Avancées".
4. Assurez-vous que l'option "Supprimer les éléments de la Corbeille après 30 jours" n'est pas activée.

### Linux (exemple avec GNOME) :
1. Ouvrez l'application "Paramètres".
2. Allez à la section "Apparence" ou "Gestion des fichiers".
3. Cherchez des options liées à la corbeille et vérifiez si une option de vidage automatique est activée.

    Big Sur version 11.2.3
    I have already restarted several times without any change.
    It was already present with the last OS X version 15;
    there must be an inaccessible setting that can only be accessed via the terminal even though I haven't touched it?

    Hello,

    Do you have the "Empty Trash" option in the "Finder" menu? If not, with Onyx, check this option:

    Unfortunately not... There's no "Empty Trash" item in the Finder menu and the "Show Empty Trash" option is indeed checked in Onyx.
    I even ran the maintenance script from Onyx without effect.

    What does this mean? Was this problem already present under Catalina?

    Have you tried repairing the disk after booting from the recovery partition?

      PS: Do you use any particular application to force empty the trash, such as TrashX or TrashMagic?

      I have the exact same problem!
      I am on a MacBook Pro.. multiple issues forced me to go back from Catalina to High Sierra. But everything was working fine, even my trash after the system change; the trash would warn before being emptied.. and suddenly, without any manipulation on my part, it empties directly without warning!!

    Hello,

    To prevent Windows 10 from automatically emptying the recycle bin, follow these steps:
    Hold down the Windows key and press the i key.
    Go to System.
    Then go to the Storage menu.
    Toggle the switch below Storage to the Off position.
