Hello everyone,

For some time now, an error message has been appearing and I can't download certain videos. This pertains to the replays from France Télévision channels.
Here is the message in question:
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Or, if not, can you recommend another downloader? Knowing that I'm on Mac...

Thanks in advance :)

Configuration: Macintosh / Safari 12.1.2

    Hi,

It seems that France Télévisions has encrypted its videos in HLS and that JD doesn't know how to decrypt them.

If it hasn't been done, JD needs to be updated. I believe this software uses youtube-dl for downloads. And often, when I was using youtube-dl, it needed to be updated.

After that, it's a game of cat and mouse between the streamer (FT) and the downloader.

Thank you for your prompt reply!
JDownloader is up to date (it updates automatically) and unfortunately, that does not solve the problem. :-(

    Hi,

It might be an encrypted download, to prevent it from being downloaded.

    It's a hypothesis.

Hi, probably, but what is encrypted must be able to be decrypted, right?

    Hello,

if you could send a link to those FT replays, I could give it a try on my side...?

There is no protection on this TV movie and it is easily downloadable with IDM in several qualities...
Unfortunately, this software is not developed for Mac; the only equivalent I know for Mac is XDM
      https://subhra74.github.io/xdm/

If you want to try it, it is better to uninstall JDownloader, this kind of software doesn't like competition.

XDM won't install on my Mac, I don't know why.
However, I downloaded IDM which I can run under a Windows emulator: it works but in the example I gave you... it only downloads the HTML page and not the video!
Could you explain to me how you did it? Maybe I need to add something in the file types?

Check if it's integrated into your browser ==> Downloads ==> Options, see the screenshot:

      Zoom in if necessary.

You also have to wait for the movie to load, result on my PC:

It’s possible that XDM/Mac is no longer supported by its developers; I had update issues on Windows...

Thank you for the explanations. Unfortunately, I think it's hopeless for me: it's an old XP that is emulated on my Mac, and its version of IE is outdated. I tried installing Firefox, but it won't launch. So, no integration possible with a browser. I thought that copying the URL and pasting it into IDM would be sufficient, but that's how I only get the HTML page. :-(
Such a shame... I give up, but thank you again.
