Hello
I can no longer highlight in free Foxit Reader, so I'm wondering if the function disappears after a while.
Unfortunately, the print function that I used a lot is no longer available, so I'm using the one from PDF Creator.
Thank you for your replies

Good evening,
All the functions available in Foxit Reader are available without limitations except for the modules to download in the extras menu.
As a Foxit Reader user for the past ten years, I have never encountered this malfunction.
I would try uninstalling the current version using dedicated software like Revo Uninstaller (free), in advanced mode, to erase all traces of the current version.
Then reinstall the current free version.
Best regards

Hello,
I would like to clarify that the last version of Foxit Reader offering a PDF printer is 9.7.2.29539
It can still be found, but not on the official website and in English.
For PDF printing, we can use the virtual printer provided with Windows 10: Microsoft Print to PDF.

What is well conceived is clearly expressed,
And the words to say it come easily.

Hello to both of you,
Thank you for the clarification, Pier10, indeed products like xchange pdf viewer, which I used for years, have become paid (the old versions work perfectly). Foxit Reader is evolving and it's not out of the question that it will follow the same path.
Microsoft Print to PDF does the job perfectly. I used PDF Creator for a while, but it is much slower (in my experience) and I see no advantages.
The virtual printers mentioned above show their limits on a few sites (instructables.com, hacster.io), made up of fragmented areas, which print very poorly or even incompletely. In this case, I use the snapshot function of my main browser, Opera, which does the job in more than 95% of critical cases.
Best regards

Thank you for not being offended by my insistence. Recently, a user who was facing an uninstallation issue could only resolve it by using the advanced mode of Revo Uninstaller.
Moreover, the fact that you only have the problem on one of the machines shows, on the contrary, that the program works, in principle.
It might be an incompatibility with another utility, although I don't really believe that.
I wouldn't say I'm close to giving up (that's dangerous, isn't it?).
While waiting for another fighter of the impossible to come to the rescue, I will try several things, provided that you are as determined as I have been in certain situations (it took me a year to resolve a sound issue on Windows Vista, which was ultimately solved by an automatic update of the OS).
1) I will install PDF Xchange Viewer, which also allows highlighting, if only to test
https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/bureautique/17243-pdf-xchange-viewer/
2) I will attempt to search for/remove the occurrences (keys) of Foxit in the registry (making a backup copy of the database for safety). I used this method successfully once when everything else, including Revo, had failed.
3) I will completely reinstall Windows to factory settings to erase all traces of the old version of Foxit, but this involves backing up all your folders, uninstalling all commercial programs to avoid losing activation codes. A saga that might not be worth it as there is no guarantee it will resolve the issue on this machine.
Looking forward to your reply.
