A write-protected drive is 99.99% dead. Unless, of course, there’s a switch on it, but those haven’t been sold in a long time. As for the potential recovery of files, even professional software won't be able to access it.

As for an 8 GB drive, don’t waste your time given the price has become very affordable at that capacity.

I installed AlcorMP_UFD 12.12.26.MD {AU6990,92,96,98}; AlcorMP(121226.MD).rar; size: 4,419,505 bytes and I can't launch it like the previous version. Now, I no longer have the unreadability error, but only that the disk is write-protected.
