My phone no longer detects my headphones.

Hello, I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8. I plug my headphones into my phone (normally) and the sound doesn't come out of my headphones, so it comes out of my phone. I cleaned the inside of my jack port, tried different headphones, and even reset my phone, but nothing works. I've played around with the jack, meaning I've tried plugging it in a lot and then less, etc. I've tried everything I've seen, but nothing works. It's been 6 months that I've been trying, and it's not working. Can someone help me because it's annoying to have to buy a new phone for a problem that could be fixed? Thank you.
